This course in Hindustani classical Santoor aims to impart students with the skills and techniques needed to play Indian classical music on the santoor. Students can start at the basic level or at the intermediate level, depending on their existing proficiency in the field (to be determined at the time of admission). The course immerses you in the world of Indian music through the medium of expression of the santoor.

Content: Basic level-Santoor - Introduction to Santoor - Swar (musical notes) and tonal quality - Alankārs - Stroke management for both hands - Essential concepts of Taal (rhythm) and Laya (tempo)  - Basics of Ragas and its components (Gat, small taans, tihai in madhya laya) - Gain practical expertise through Bandishes (compositions) across different ragas, enhancing musical skills through hands-on application of acquired knowledge - Hand practice techniques for advanced speeds Intermediate Level - Santoor
- Introduction to Tantrakari Ang structure - Different Ragas - Tonal quality work with Alankar in three octaves - Raga Elaboration with Alaap, Jod and Taan - Gat at varied speeds (Vilambit/Maseetkhani, madhya laya, Drut/Rajakhani) in different ragas. - Movement of hands at high speeds according to the structure of taans - Advanced Taal Knowledge with different jaati. - To enhance proficiency in all aspects covered in the basic level course - Practice sessions and perfection
