This course in Hindustani classical slide Guitar aims to impart students with the skills and techniques needed to play Indian classical music on the slide Guitar.
Students can start at the basic level or at the intermediate level, depending on their existing proficiency in the field (to be determined at the time of admission). The course immerses you in the world of Indian music through the medium of expression of the slide Guitar.
Content:
Basic level - Hindustani Slide Guitar
- Swar (musical notes)
- Elementary playing skills – left hand and right hand movements and slide technique
- Alankārs
- Essential concepts of Taal (rhythm) and Laya (tempo)
- Basics of Ragas including its components like ‘Sargam geet’
- Gain practical expertise through Gatkari and Bandishes (compositions) across different ragas, enhancing musical skills through hands-on application of acquired knowledge
- Basic finger and slide techniques on the Guitar
- Specialised techniques to enhance finger flexibility and tonal quality on the Guitar.
Intermediate Level - Hindustani Slide Guitar
